JESSICA MACLEAN joined the firm in February of 2014 after twelve years of public service with the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office. Before leaving the State’s Attorney’s Office, Ms. MacLean was an Assistant State’s Attorney in the Real Estate Tax Division.

While in the Real Estate Tax Division of the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office, Ms. MacLean represented the Cook County Board of Review, Cook County Assessor and Cook County Treasurer in numerous proceedings in Circuit Court, the Illinois Property Tax Appeal Board, the United States Bankruptcy Court and the United States Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals. In addition Ms. MacLean represented the People of Cook County in criminal matters for three years, handling over sixty criminal appeals and several criminal trials. Ms. MacLean also worked full time as a paralegal for the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office while attending law school in the evenings.

Ms. MacLean has experience representing owners of office buildings, shopping centers, retail stores, hotels, manufacturing plants, distribution centers, mixed-used developments, nursing homes, hospitals, condominium associations, cooperatives, apartments and single family residences. She has assisted clients and represented them in seeking incentives and exemptions. Ms. MacLean’s experience also includes active membership in the Chicago Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the Illinois State Bar Association, the Women’s Property Tax Association and the Institute for Professionals in Taxation. Her experience in the field makes her a sought after presenter at property tax meetings and conferences. She has presented to local, national and international property tax groups on real property tax topics as well as diversity and inclusion topics.

Ms. MacLean earned a B.A. from Lake Forest College where she was a member and captain of the volleyball and softball teams. Ms. MacLean earned her J.D. from Chicago Kent College of Law. She is involved in coaching youth sports in her community. She was admitted to the Illinois bar in 2006.
